A new surprise

Hi guys! I'm posting about some surprising news. Do you like flowers? Or do you like planting or caring for them? If you do, what would you do if your mum got you a batch of seeds to plant? I'd be excited and go plant the seeds right away! Can you guess what the surprise was? Seeds to plant in? Nope. My mum bought me an alive purple Orchid and a Magic Rose. The Orchid was so pretty and the Magic Rose was so... Magical. I gasped when I saw the flowers and asked mum straightaway how she got those. She explained that she had bought them at Chong Pang that morning, applying for my brother's treatment at the doctors', when she walked out and saw a store with lots of pretty flowers inside. She rushed in and asked the lady if the flowers were real. When she heard that the flowers were real, she bought them. She loves planting flowers. In our old garden outside out house, she used to plant flowers everywhere. I must have inherited the love of gardening from her. Anyway, she brought the flowers home, fetched me and vice versa. When I saw the Magic Rose, I was puzzled. "Why are they called Magic Rose? They don't look like roses." I told my mum. "I'm also not sure why, but that's how it is." My mum answered me. "But they are magic because they close up at 6.00 p.m. and bloom in the morning." She said. "Oh..." I said. Then I went inside the house, fetched the spray and watered the Orchid and the Magic Rose. "KC, did you know that if you take good care of the Orchid, new shoots with new flowers will grow?" She asked me. "That would be nice," I said. "But don't overwater it," My mum cautioned me. "If you do, the roots of the Orchid will grow soft and the plant will die." I nodded. After I watered the plants, it was time for lunch. I quickly ate and went back to school for CCA.

Notifications...

Hi guys... I just noticed something strange on my blog that I think you should be notified about. I think that the blog dates are one day before the actual date here in Singapore. So when they say "30th April 2011", it's actually "1st May 2011". So don't get mixed up that my birthday is on the 30th of April. It's actually the 1st of May, Labour day. This is going to be a short post, but it's a little not-so-serious notification. I'm also going to tell you about the properties of my blog(in case you don't know).
On the left side of the blog, you can see me riding on a pretend horse. Yes. That is my profile. And in the middle, where the most of the words are, are the posts that I have posted. Above every post, there is the date and time of when I posted the post. And lastly, to the right. There is the "Welcome!" message, the most popular posts, a search bar to search the web/my blog, the total pageviews, my followers and my blog archive.( That means it'll display how many posts I have posted in a certain month and what they are. Then at the bottom, there's the "Subscribe to: Posts Atom" or whatever thing. And lastly, at the very end of my blog, there are a few bold writings saying a little goodbye and thank you to our fellow readers. And that's all for now, but if you have any questions, you can always post a question-comment. I'll be sure to read it and post back. Thank you for reading this notification post and I hope you enjoy reading my blog!

Once in a blue moon...

Hi. Nowadays, it's pretty quiet in my world. Days aren't buzzing with news like they usually do, and now I feel as if I can hear a single drop of rain fall into a net. The only thing I hear is the boring buzz of my friends' chatter and the breeze of my electric fan. There is not much going on in my world, and now it's as if there's an eclipse. The sun is being covered by the moon. News is disappearing like smoke in the wind, and ideas are vanishing like dust in the sand. Its like the blue moon is taking them away to replenish them so that, when he comes again he can blow the new ideas over my head... It's sort of pleasant to feel the breeze in my hair. The news is falling apart... And when it comes together again, the news will be bursting on this blog like a million of dollars in a pouch.

*I know this post is kind of short, but it's what this post is about. I might be posting short stories here nowadays, so I think you might want to read some of them. (The * means 'take note') As I've said, the news will be bursting on this blog like a million of dollars in a pouch.

My best friends

Hi guys! I'm going to share with you on My Best Friends. My first best friend, Jon, is the one I met at P2. She was jolly, happy, bouncy, scientific and a bookworm, like me. Also, like me, Jon loves to write stories. Her stories are COOL as can be, and she uses good phrases even though her grammar has a little flaw in it. I'm really glad Jon was born in the year 2002, otherwise I wouldn't have met her! She's such a great friend! And secondly, Rachael. She has a blog like me, and she's a prefect. But that isn't why I like her so much. She's very nice and her singing voice is terrific. I also think she's beautiful and that the prefect tie shaped itself for her. She looks right in it. She's my partner in school and she always keeps me company. In rainy days, she entertains me with her unstoppable chatter and games, and no day is lonely. Except for days when she's not there. It's normally a rainy day when Rachael's not there, and I just want to pray that she'll appear out of thin air. Anyhow, whether it's Jon or Rachael, they both bring out the best in me. Last time, I was a shy girl and not much of a bookworm, and also not as smart in English. But Jon brought out the bookworm in me, and Rachael brought out the outgoingness in me. Now all I have to do is be myself and feel their magic work. Ah, It's good to have best friends!

*Did you know that a true friend or best friend accepts both your sides, your good and your bad? Yes. So look for true friends, not ones that will dump you as soon as they see another most popular girl in line. True friends will never leave your side. So get to know who your real friends are! And try your best to be a true friend!

Exams... Oh no...

Oh great. Exams are coming, exams are coming! I really love and don't like exams. They're kind of hard, but when you look at the over all result, actually, exams are really fun. At least, to me it is. But, the tough part is that it's in the Semestral Assesment 1, one of the biggest exams in the whole of the report card percentage. I really need to study more, because every day the exam questions get harder and every day you have to study harder. So hard that you'll crush your pen or pencil! I really don't like crushing my pen and wasting a good $2.20, so I'll really appreciate it if the bookshop makes it crushproof or something. UGH! Why do exams have to be so hard?   Of course, I know it's for my own good. Just keep thinking of the exam result and it'll motivate you to try harder. Try harder for a better result. But if that doesn't work, always look at the person better than you and tell yourself to strive to become better than them, to become better at that subject. Exams aren't there to make you feel bad when you fail. Exams are there to test you whether you learned or not. So you'd better pay attention in class! Take my advice and pay attention in class, study hard and don't resent the exams. Take your time to learn, no one is pushing you. You don't have to get good marks in your exams. All that matters is that you do your best!

The Hamster's Gazette: Issue 1

Hello and welcome to our first issue of Hamster's Gazette. We're all very excited and we hope that you enjoy our paper. If you have any feedbacks(that would be really yummy if you added a few sunflower seeds and a peanut), feel free to post it. Our first issue might not be that good, but with your feedbacks, we might improve! The creator of this newspaper is Mr Winter Snow, aged 0 and a half, a Pearl Winter White hamster. Anyhow, please enjoy our paper!

Introduction of editor, Mr. Winter Snow

Hi everyone, I'm Winter, as my owner calls me. I am a domestic pet and I have roamed my owner's house before and explored the outsides of an escalator. Of course, my owner was with me all the way, to look after me. But it was truly exciting! I saw a giant rectangle standing in front of me, with crystal glass. I was fascinated by the rainbow that it made. But as I was looking at it, my owner said "Times up, Wint. Time to go back into your cage." I sighed and yawned. My owner always does that, because she wants to take extra care of me. I understand her concern, because she told me once that she had two Safyer-breed hamsters, and they died because she gave them only one bed and they fought on who to sleep in the bed. There wasn't much else and my idea of Hamster's Gazette was dying out, when lightning and thunder struck. I was so scared that I jumped and burrowed into my bedding. I cried out in alarm when I saw a flash of white. I knew that my owner was out there, and I hoped that she was OK. When she came back with a tall woman, a little boy and a big boy, I was relieved. I knew that in the home that I trusted, I knew that I didn't need to worry. And I sunk into a deep sleep.

Ouch! Sorry. I had gotten way off the track. But my mind's going blank now, and I really, really need a nap. <Yawns> Ugh. Sorry. But, bye, and sleep tight.

Get outdoors!

Hi again! Now I'm going on the topic of games. Why do people spend lots of time on the computer? Addicted to games. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, only, who goes outdoors anymore? Only the babies do, but what about us? What about children? Almost all of us don't go downstairs to play soccer, excerscise or just simply enjoy the greenery. So think about it and consider. I have myopia, did you know that? I just don't have glasses in my picture. But now that I don't spend my days cooped up in the computer anymore(I still do occasionally, but not all the time), my myopia isn't spreading as quickly as it would have to another person. It's not as bad, but I still have it. To prevent this from happening to you, get outdoors! Did you know that my brother, Nicoli almost got myopia a long time ago, but because he spent so much time outdoors, it built a barrier and he doesn't have any glasses. He had encountered a miracle! So get out and play! Whether it's soccer, badminton, swimming, basketball, softball, hockey, excerscising or just taking a stroll, go for it! You never know what good it'll bring you.. But one thing's for sure. Myopia can't reach you as easily if you go outdoors for at least 10 minutes a day! It won't take much time, and surely homework isn't an overall excuse for you to play computer all day? I'm sure your parents won't like having to buy you glasses like mine - they cost $420! Not just because it's expensive but because it's not good for you, take good care of your eyes!

A hamster's news

Hey again. Hamster news is what this blog entry is all about. I've created a kind of news called the Hamster's Gazette, the news which I will be posting on this blog. The Hamster's Gazette is news on Hamsterworld, Winter Snow's world. In case you forgot, Winter is my Pearl Winter White hamster. Less on the Hamster's Gazette now, and back on the news. Winter has been improving his eating habits lately, and I've been feeding him yummy treats that I bought from the pet store to get him excited about the flavor of the food. The sunflower seeds help, too, and now, every time at breakfast, lunch and diner, I don't have to feed him anymore. He goes there by himself to have a sunflower seed or a peanut. And water? He drinks almost every once a half - hour! He's been doing great, putting equal time into excerscise, eat, drink and sleep. He's been growing healthily, though his lifespan is only up to 2 - 3 and a half years. Still, I love him! And just remember that now every post will be on Winter. Look for the Hamster's Gazette if you want to learn more about hamsters. Now, I have another post to be working on. Bye!

Hamster settled in, the hamster's settled in!

Hi guys(again)! Thanks for reading my blog, it's a pleasure to have viewers. But I have some not - really - exciting news to tell you. Remember my hamster? Yeah, the per shop only had males. The pure snow-white one was my favourite, but they said that the poor fella was injured and that we couldn't buy him until later. But I couldn't wait and chose the second-whitest one, which I called Winter Snow. Winter was an angel, until today. When I woke up at 7.00 a.m. this morning, I saw him rapidly at the hamster wheel, taking turns trying to gnaw the bars until they gave way. It wanted to be free. But hey, did you know that hamsters are nocturnal animals? Yup. So why did Winter sleep in the night, and be so active in the daytime? It's sort of strange, though I accept it. I think Winter doesn't know how to do anything by himself, so I've bathed, fed and bottle-fed him some water. He accepted all three before going at the hamster wheel again. This time, he didn't accept any of the treats I figured he'd go gaga for. He just pushed them out of the hamster wheel with his tiny paws and continued to run. I was worried that he wanted to excerscise to death, so I wanted to research it on the internet. I doubt there is any problem there, except that Winter has not been drinking his water lately. So I'm going to ask Google if it has any idea of why Winter was acting so weirdly. Anyhow, I'd better get researching. See ya later!
